A week to level up
In the week from 26th October until 30th October 2020, 44 students of grade ten had an amazing week. In the beginning the coaches started with a warm-up before they split us into the four courses. We could choose on of these: music, business, drama and film course. There was something for everyone. This was the opening event. The coaches are native speakers, they come from England or Scotland. So most of them were speaking English only.
I attended the business course.
During the first days we talked about the basics of business and incredibly famous entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Their visions were blatant. I liked that we didn`t work with sheets but mostly worked orally. It was a highly active-speaking week. On the next days we were busy with the establishment of a company of our own. That was the best challenge of the week – to create your own business. We could be creative and pursue our ideas.
At the end of the week the groups presented their results in our school hall. The music group sang some songs, the theatre presented a play, the film group created own films and the business course introduced their self-made companies. In a little competition the best start-up idea was chosen. The closing event was really delightful and fun. With the help of pictures, we looked back at our progress during the week. And definitely - we practised a lot of English. This experience with the LevelUp! company was amazing!
